And there it went.....

I love summer for a hundred different reasons....I think Fall is beautiful, but I always get a little bit of a sick feeling in my stomach when the weather starts to change. I just love summer. Here are a million pictures from summer 2013 in no particular order.

First, good news!! We found out we are expecting a baby sister in February. Words aren't really adequate for this topic, so I'll just say.....we are SO grateful and excited. See picture below.....

Drewby got himself dressed for bed. So handsome, right?

We went to the Utah Symphony John Denver tribute concert at Deer Valley. For about a minute , I forgot John Denver was no longer with us and got really excited that we were going to see him in concert....no lie. It was a rainy event, but so fun (even with a JD impersonator).

Drew had to have a little procedure done by the pediatric urologist because he shot in a rainbow. It ended up being the best day of his life.....movies on the Ipad and Cheetos!! He barely noticed the medical part of the day. Here we are waiting for the numbing cream to kick in.

Swimming in Park City. Swimming lessons worked miracles for the Nelson kids this year. Hallelujah!

Cousins swimming....Jane, Audrey, Jake, Drew. Such natural smiles!

Day at the movies with Murrays and Madsens. That movie is totally worth a movie day....so funny.

4th of July parade in North Ogden
Some cute Americans.

Swimming at Grandma Gwen's with Christensen cousins

Bare-chested sparklers for the 4th.

We had some great visits with friends from out of town - unfortunately I didn't get pics of all the visits, but here are a few!
The Englands from Washington state.

The Kynastons and Sonntags from Ann Arbor.

The Bednars and Wards from Ann Arbor.

More swimming at Gram's house. Seriously, look how brave they got. It's like a miracle (as Grandma Chris would say).

We gave This is The Place Park some great business this summer....here we are with Gardners and Preeces.

Audrey went to a little "Girls Camp" run by her 9 yr. old cousin Katie and her friends. Possibly the highlight of her summer.

They also learned to ride their bikes like pros. We are thinking they're ready for the Tour de France next summer.

Spent a couple days with my family in North Ogden...we all look so thrilled to be together! Fishing at the Trout Farm.

"Look, Mom, I'm the Statue of Lifferty!"
Todd spent a weekend with his two high school buddies Matt and Pete in Yosemite. Well...only one night technically in Yosemite because of the fires. When they woke up it was too smoky so they had to hike back out....but boy time, nonetheless.

Such a scary, awesome picture.

The smoke....

We spent one burning hot, fun-filled day at Lagoon. Todd thanked heaven all that day that he had to be at work.

Misery...waiting in line.

Todd had his stuff packed for his Yosemite trip and Drew got nosy and found his Swiss Army pocketknife. Bad news.

Minus the moment of stitching, it was another highlight of his summer. He LOVED having this bandage on his hand and asked me to tell everyone (including the lady at the Wendy's drive-thru) that he had stitches on his hand.

Fun night at the movies with my cute friends from our ward. Did I mention I'm pregnant?

Accidental hickey that I gave Drew while we were wrestling. Woops! There's a lot of love in that hickey.

He started "playing" on a soccer team. He can run SO fast. Doesn't really matter what's happening with the ball. He just runs full speed up and down the field....love it.

"Speed Fast!" as he would say.

Ballet is back in session and I am in love with this picture....Audrey and her cousin Hailey.

Audrey started Kindergarten....she has been waiting for this day for "YEARS!"

She didn't to leave when the day was over.

I saw this out of the corner of my eye one day and it made me all sentimental. She was working on her fairy house and he was sucking up bugs with his bug vacuum. It seems like their littleness is so fleeting.

We hiked to Lake Mary at Brighton one day. The kids definitely hike better than I do.

AND we made ALOT of messes at Grandma and Grandpa's house....ALOT. They are very patient.

Wow. Picture overload. It was such a great summer! Love you, Summer. See ya next year.

RedFish 2013

We had our annual Nelson family trip to Red Fish Lake during the first week of August. There were 4 pregnant ladies and one newborn this year, so the pace of the week was a bit slower than usual. The kids were in heaven being with their cousins and roaming around with complete freedom, stopping to bathe every 7 days or so.

Serious base/tennis ball with Uncle Sverre.

Dinners on the beach...not much talking - ALOT of speed eating.

Classic picture of Grandma Chris in her Spam shirt working with a burnt marshmallow.

Two handsome boys driving the boat.

Prettiest backdrop....it never gets old.

I heart this guy.

Cutting up the lake. I want to make out with him every time I watch him waterski. TMI?

RFL Posers - Audrey and Sammy

I don't know where this idea came from but it hits my funny bone.

He was just sitting there in the dirt staring into oblivion. When I asked him what he was doing he said, "Just thinking."
See ya next year Red Fish!
