While Grandma Was Here.....

My mom came to stay with us for the entire six weeks I had radiation treatments. She is an angel. It took the stress out of the situation for me because I didn't have to drop the kids off at someone's house every day - instead they just hung out with Grandma Janny and barely noticed I was gone.
If you know her, you know my mom is a prolific picture taker. I uploaded the pics from her camera onto our computer and I'm going to post the highlights here. So, here are our radiation days from Grandma's perspective:

My dad came the first weekend and successfully tackled the list of projects I had for him. That guy has skills.
He hates pictures....she loves them. Aren't they cute?
Drew got a haircut.
We visited the Hirschis in Lansing.
Stalker mom took pictures (from the car window) of me talking to Rebecca and Brooke after church.
Wrestling kiddos.
We took our cute neighbor Kiyoe to ice cream at Washtenaw Dairy (love that place).
Oh my goodness! Can you believe how HUGE I am next to her? Ha.
Audrey had a ballet recital ("recycle" according to her).
I was across the room from my mom video taping. I couldn't see Audrey for a minute so I looked away from my video camera screen and she was shooting me an "I love you" from across the dance floor. My mom was taking continual pictures and caught it. So, so cute. I love her.

Patiently waiting for their servants to bring them their dinner.
Bed time books.
Big sisters are a blessing/trial.
We played at the park. Clay and Steph, Todd thinks this picture of Drew is the spitting image of Parker. You think?
I love that Drew loves my hair.
My mom's cousin Deborah and her family came for an overnight visit from Ohio. Cute boys.

Airplane on the kitchen floor.
Flower making night with the girls at Rebecca's. Thank heaven for fun friends. Love them.
Working on food storage.
No joke...there have been fights over the mask. "That's my wadiation mask!!!" Not all kids are so lucky.
Drew hiding while eating more cupcake than he was supposed to.

Cheeser.
Satan child and her dazed brother out for a walk.
Love when they play nicely together.
This is how my mom spent most car rides for 6 weeks...in the back seat of the Outback. Like I said, she's an angel.
Todd went to California for a weekend for his buddy Jason's wedding. He also got to see Jeff and Rachel. I was sad to miss it but Michigan needed me that weekend.
We toured the Ford Rouge Factory outside Detroit where they make the F-150 trucks. It was fascinating.

We had to make a detour on the way to the factory and we passed this sign. $5-10K for a 3 bedroom brick home on a "good block"???!! Sheesh. So sad.

And a totally unrelated, old picture I just found. Kungfu Baby Drew playing in the sand at Bear Lake. Don't tell me you can look at that picture without laughing.

We love you, Mama Janny. Thanks for taking care of us. And thanks to my dad too for being a bachelor for 6 weeks...that's a long time to only eat corn dogs.

A quick health update since I'm horrible at calling/e-mailing people individually: I'm feeling totally fine and I have a couple really cool bald spots on my head. I won't have any sort of check ups until July and then I'll have an MRI. At that point they're not necessarily expecting to see much (like they don't expect the tumor to be smaller) but they want to make sure it hasn't grown at all. So, that's about it. I'm SO grateful to be feeling good, to have good doctors, insurance and incredible support from family and friends.
