I'm a 13 Year Old Boy

This is totally juvenile but I keep laughing about it (don't know why I think it's so funny).. Todd bought me fancy German knives and then he pointed out what it says on the side of the box. Maybe they're not as fancy as I thought. Admit it...you laughed.

Quick NY Trip

We took a really quick trip to NY last weekend.....it was so fun. Lauren and Kristen ( 2 of Todd's amazing and athletic sisters) ran the Boston marathon on Monday so they were in NY at the mission home for the few days previous to the race. We couldn't miss out on the action, so we flew up on Friday night and came home on Sunday night. Our nice friends the Miners kept Audrey with them. As usual, I took barely any pictures, but here are a couple gems.

The crew at Rockefeller Center (Lauren took off early to meet her man in Boston).
Drew is an angel from heaven. We carted him all over the city and thanks to Grandma Chris's invention of attaching his binky to her key lanyard (I know-possible strangulation hazzard - we kept a close eye on him) he stayed happy and didn't die from the subway germs his binky was sure to collect.

He was really into Aunt Rachel's necklace. (He looks like a mischievious devil here).

Todd, Drew and Grandma Chris taking on Chinatown.

Todd w/ Kristen and Mick at Penn Station.

My dear, DEAR friend Brooke from DC is a Big Apple girl now and met up with us for a little bit. Todd was patient, as usual, while Brooke and I shopped. I love that girl. Thanks for hangin' with us, Brookie.

Mom and Dad Visit and a Couple Randoms

My parents came to visit a couple weeks ago...I LOVE those people. My dad was only here for a couple days and it was pretty rainy so we opted for a visit to The Henry Ford Museum near Detroit.
We sat on the bus Rosa Parks was riding when she refused to give up her seat for a white man.
Todd and Co. sitting in Rosa's exact seat.
The day was also journal worthy because Audrey had her first taste of a hot dog. That's right. The Museum has the original Oscar Meyer Weinermobile and then has the Weinermobile Cafe. Papa Allen couldn't just give her a taste of a regular old hot dog either.....it had to be serious. She tasted a Chicago Dog, a Big Apple Dog, a Chili dog and then a little straight up ketchup and mustard dog. She was not disappointed.

Here she is actually BEING a hot dog in front of the Weinermobile. Such a classy lady.
And having some ice cream with Grandma.
Drew had an all ice cream lunch.
What visit from my parents would be complete without some serious projects.....like dismantling the washing machine.
A couple random pictures in conclusion. I love this picture because it's such an accurate depiction of our life right now. Todd and I trying to take a Sunday nap on the floor, Drew scaling the wall of parents and pillows and Audrey (somehow got hold of the camera) is documenting the non-existent nap. Ha. Are we bad parents?
We're still trying to figure out how we got two babies with such different mugs. Lovable, but completely different mugs.

                                                                     LOVE.
