Summer Accomplishments

In June, we had visitors three weekends in a row. Hooray! The reason I consider this an accomplishment is that that means we squeezed a lot of bodies into our tiny house. We LOVE visitors though, so if you're not scared of an air mattress we have a lot of hospitality to share.
The first visitors were our beloved friends the Parkers. The kids, of course, had popsicles on the front porch. Oh man we love these guys!
Our next visitors were Todd's little brothers and their wives. Jeff and Rachel moving from New Jersey - Scott and Mandy moving to New Jersey, and they met at our house as they crossed the country. It was so fun to get 3 of the 4 Nelson boys together. Oh man, we love these guys!

Here's breakfast in our regal dining room.
The next weekend my brother Micah and his wife Rachel (Todd's first cousin- don't get confused) had a layover in Detroit on their way to Europe. So, we picked them up, brought them to our house for 20 minutes ate lunch at Zingerman's, saw the Michigan stadium, had ice cream and took them back to the airport. Oh man, we love these guys too!!
They won major points with Audrey because they brought her a pink Cougars shirt.

The next accomplishment is Drew's. He suddenly learned to talk. He had about 4 words down until last week and then the flood gates opened and now he will almost repeat any basic word we tell him. He's pointing at everything saying "Dat!" and yelling "Stuck!" from his crib all the time.

Next accomplishment: Audrey is learning to wear undies. She has no concern for wedgies though....I think they're permanently like this.

And last one - we hatched some baby robins outside our living room window. We're so proud of ourselves. I accidentally deleted most of the pics of them, but it was pretty awesome to watch. We saw the 5 little blue eggs, and then we saw these fuzzy bodies the day they hatched, and then we watched their mom bring them worms, and then one day they grew up and moved away.

Drew looks more like a Chrimchinchin every time I see him.

And I can vouch for the comfyness of the air mattress. Just don't turn off the computer--you'll break it like I did.

Someday, your babies will grow up and fly away too! I'm glad you guys are so happy, though. We miss you.
